Training Your Dog Without Losing Your Mind

Let’s be real — training a dog can test your patience.  One minute they’re sitting perfectly, and the next they’re running off with your slipper like it’s the best toy in the world.  However, the fact of the matter is that dog training need not be stressful. With a little consistency (and a lot of treats), you can totally get there.

Start out easy. Commands like sit, stay, and come are the foundation.  Dogs, like us, get bored, so keep training sessions short—five to ten minutes is ideal. And remember, praise works way better than punishment.  A happy “good job!”  and a treat go a long way.

If your dog messes up, don’t sweat it.  Just try again.  Progress rather than perfection is the goal. Every time you train, you’re not just teaching commands; you’re building trust and communication.

Before you know it, your pup will start listening, tail wagging, waiting for the next cue.  And honestly, that moment makes all the effort totally worth it.
